Candidate Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with German GAAP (HGB) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  2. Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, coordinating with various departments and third parties to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results.
  3. Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external auditors, coordinating audit activities.
  4. Collaborate with tax advisors to ensure compliance with corporate tax regulations, including VAT, corporate income tax, and other tax filings.
  5. Follow-up local regulatory or tax changes.
  6. Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the accounting function, driving efficiencies and enhancing controls.
  7. Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, laws, and reporting requirements, including those mandated by BaFin (Federal Financial Supervisory Authority) and other regulatory authorities.
  8. Advising executive management on the financial impact of business activities.

Candidate Profile:

  1. University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  2. Several years of experience in financial management preferred, with an understanding
    of banking products, transactions, and accounting principles.
  3. Previous experience from working at an audit firm is an advantage.
  4. Knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS),
    with experience in financial reporting for banking institutions.
  5. Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks applicable to financial institutions in Germany.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively.
  7. High level of integrity and reliability with a strong sense of urgency and result-orientation.
  8. Team player with ability to work and cooperate in an international environment.
  9. Flexibility as well as adaptability.
  10. Fluency in German and English.
